For years, Treasure Valley has made lists of the fastest-growing regions in America as newcomers and Gem State natives in-migrate at a rate of almost 15,000 people a year. Mayfield Springs Planned Community in Elmore County, Idaho is a developer’s vision to respond to these market forces – unprecedented population growth in Gem State and industrial growth in southeast Boise. Elmore County brought this vision to reality by collaborating with 47 local, state, and federal agencies over the last 5 years. In this session, the panel will discuss how the developer representatives and county staff worked towards creating a strong foundation for the future City of Mayfield.

Econ./Mobile Tour

The Ford Idaho Center is a complex of sports and entertainment venues owned by the City of Nampa. It first opened in 1997 in an undeveloped area seemingly detached from city development but near I-84. Though controversial at the time of construction, the Center is now self-funded and has been the catalyst for commercial, educational, and residential development in Nampa. The area is developing out as a true live, work, play environment and the city anticipates further development of the complex. The participants will get to tour the Ford Idaho Center complex and see the impact to the area.
