Our Mission is to, Advocate for effective planning programs, practices and legislation statewide. To this end, we shall provide resources, training, monitoring, mentoring, communications, lobbying, and other services to, and for all Idaho professional, student, and citizen planners. These activities shall help to assure that Idaho’s planners are professionally knowledgeable and empowered to create and implement balanced, informed and visionary plans for their communities.
APA Idaho is committed to including the voice of students. The Board of Directors include one to two Student Representatives that are voting members. Interested students must be enrolled in a planning program, or similar field, within Idaho; represent the interests of student planners in the State and provide a communication link between the Board and the student planners in the State; regularly attend board meetings and provide the student perspective; help recruit student volunteers to assist with the annual conference and/or mini conferences; and help recruit their replacement on the board. There is currently a vacancy for the University of Idaho Student Representative. If interested, send us a message.
National APA has a free membership for any student actively enrolled or matriculated in any university or college degree program for the duration of studies. Students that don’t qualify for the free membership through APA may join the Idaho Chapter as a Chapter-only member.
